What is the 2×2 layout rule?
Choose 3, 4 or 5 hazards on a 4×4 grid. Every contiguous 2×2 square contains at most two hazards. All layouts satisfying that rule have equal probability; one randomly chosen layout stays fixed throughout the round. Horizontal and vertical position can affect cell odds.
How is the live value calculated?
Live value starts at0.97 times the virtual stake. A safe reveal divides it by that cell’s exact conditional safe probability among the remaining compatible legal layouts. A hazard ends the round with zero return. Reveals change knowledge, not the hidden layout.
How are safe probabilities counted?
Count compatible legal layouts after each reveal. For a selected cell, its safe probability is the number of those layouts in which it is safe divided by the total compatible count. The unconstrained formula remaining safe cells divided by remaining cells is not valid here. Probabilities can rise or fall as observations change the compatible set.
